Lately, I have run into so many business owners who say they have no marketing budget.
As a business coach I think 2 different things when they say this:
Well, then you must want your business to be the best-kept secret in town!
And How can you expect to be successful if no one knows what you have to offer?
As a small business practice building coach, I understand there is not always a huge amount of cash flow available for marketing, but I don’t think that is always the problem.
Usually, when I sit down with people, it boils down to something totally different.
They aren’t really sure “what action steps to take to get the word out” about their gifts talents skills or events.
Here are some simple solutions to “getting the word out”.
#1 you need a list of people who are interested in what you are doing
#2 decide how to contact your list of people (email, text, phone calls, etc)
#3 announce and invite them to participate.
#4 Ask them to help spread the word, by sharing this announcement with their friends.
Today all four of these steps are free!
So next time you have an event and not enough people come, ask yourself:
Did I invite everyone I know?
Did I ask them to bring a friend, tell a friend, or share about my event?
Most people are happy to show up and to share if they really believe in you and what you are doing.
Ask and you shall receive.
