Where are all our body toxins coming from?

In the first hour of the day most of us, drink something, jump in the shower use shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and facial wash.  Then we get out of the shower, put on lotion, deodorant, use hair gel, hair spray, shave with shaving cream, (face for men, and legs and armpits for women), brush our teeth, use mouth wash, and floss.  We use 10 or 15 products before we even leave the house!
How healthy are the products we are using on your bodies?
Do we know what is in them?
Are they good for us?
Do we realize our skin is the biggest organ through which the body takes in toxins?
What if we could eliminate a majority of the toxins we take in through use of cosmetics/toiletries/cleaning supplies, and pesticides?
How would this affect our health?  Weight loss?
Can toxins really interfere with weight loss?
My resounding answer is YES!  They can and they do.
Recently I have started becoming more aware of the toxins I take into my body through cosmetics and toiletries.  I have completed round 1 of Idaho Fat Loss program and dropped 26 lbs in 45 days. And now am entering Phase 4/ remain phase to keep my weight the same for the next 3 weeks before doing round 2 of the reduce phase again! During this program they ask you not to use products with toxins in them and they give you a list of healthy products to choose from.  This caused me to start looking at the products I have been using and how they are affecting my body toxin levels.
Recently I found a youtube video of the food babe sitting in her bathroom showing everyone her skin care routine from morning until night.
I am here to say, weightloss is not just about eating right and exercising.  There are products and substances that we use that disrupt our body’s neurotransmitters and hormones.
So if you are trying to lose weight and can’t figure out why the fat won’t disappear even though you are eating right and exercising…here’s a list of some common Hormonal & Neurotransmitter disruptors:
Aspartame, Nutrasweet, Equal, Acesulfame, Nutrinova, Twinsweet, Saccharin, Sweet n low, sucralose, Splenda, MSG, Monosodium glutamate, antidepressants (prozac, wellbutrin, cymbalta), caffeine, sugar, nicotine, cleaning supplies, pesticides in food (dirty dozen), chronic stress/dysfunction, sleep aids (ambein, lunesta, etc.), white flour/junk food, BPA (in plastics), xylitol (small amounts ok), Truvia, purevia, antipsychotic medication.
You can avoid 90% of pesticides on your fruits and vegetables by knowing what they call the dirty dozen (most chemically sprayed while growing), and buying just those 12 organic!
Dirty Dozen: strawberries, apples, celery, cherry tomatoes/tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes, nectarines/peaches, hot peppers/ sweet bell peppers, Kale/Collard greens/lettuce, potatoes, snap peas, spinach.
Don’t worry about buying organic when it is the clean 15: Asparagus, avocados, cabbage, cantaloupe, cauliflower, eggplant, grapefruit, kiwi, mangoes, onions, papayas, pineapples, sweet corn, sweet peas, and sweet potatoes.
Just knowing the above will eliminate a majority of the toxins coming into your body!
Cheers to your health,
Paula
